This map is for all the folks following me on my trip!

 

I will start the India portion of my trip in Mumbai (Bombay), to see a Bharhut fragment in the Prince of Wales Museum. I will then travel out to Ajanta and Ellora, to work on brushing up the Ajanta Site Seminar project. Then I head to the Sanchi stupas for a good look at second century BC sculpture. After a week in Sanchi, I will proceed to Delhi and New Delhi, with a trip out to Agra (to see the Taj Mahal). In Delhi I hope to see several important fragments in the National Museum, and some of the original photographs in the Archaeological Survey. After a brief stop in Mathura, I will go to Allahabad for a couple weeks, and spend time with the Allahabad Collection, and several daytrips out to the Bharhut site. From there I will head to Varanasi (Benares), and spend some time with the fragments in the Bharat Kala Bhavan. After a brief stop at the Patna Museum, I will proceed to Calcutta, and the major collection of Bharhut sculpture in the Indian Museum. Finally, I will stop in Bodhgaya for a few days, then a another brief stop in Varanasi before I head back to Mumbai and home.
